Risto Miettinen aka Risto R Muzik is a film & TV composer based in Los Angeles.
His work has taken him on a safari across a the wilderness of music, ranging from contemporary beats for the John Travolta film “I’am Wrath” to music designing horror score for the Simon West(Tomb Raider, Expendables) produced movie Night of the Living Dead to creating suspenseful synths for “Motel”starring John Cusack and Robert De Niro and music programming on the score to the video game Sims 4. Risto also writes for various music libraries and has had his work placed on dozens of TV shows ranging from Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker to “History Channel’s “Modern Marvels” to MSNBC’s “Lockup Raw” and National Geographic’s “Wicked Tuna”.
Risto also composes sound sculptures as a hobby, with which he explores the possibilities of creating music by recording various elements, like the rain, the wind and even by trapping a Bumble Bee into a jar.
Over the course of the years, he has worked on numerous types of film and television scores, ranging from ethnic to classical to avant-garde sound design to pop oriented electronica scores.
Risto lives in Los Angeles, California and when not working, he tries to make it out of the studio to go hiking as often as he can.
